On Wednesday, we had a inter school/cross country race. The year 3's started our race off. After a while it came to the year 7 girls. BOOM! BOOM! Went my heart pounding. PPHH! Went the whistle. Jogging as fast as I could to get up to the girls in front. 2 laps came and I was nearly at the finish line. "Don't trip, don't trip!", I was saying to myself but guess what? I tripped over and I twisted my ankle.
Finally in the lane to the finish line. I could hear supporters shouting, "GO MARANATHA!". Running as fast as I could (with my twisted ankle) to get to the finish line. But there was a girl (in the picture at the back of me) ran in front of me and I still couldn't run. I believed in myself and ran as fast as I could to get past her. YAY! Finally, I got past her and the finish line.
This blog is a record of my learning from Ruapotaka Primary School through to Tamaki College.

All Blacks beat Argentina in RWC!
The All Blacks have started their defence of the World Cup with a hard fought 26-16 victory over Argentina.
The All Blacks were made to work hard for the victory, eventually pulling away in the final 20 minutes. Both captain Richie McCaw and centre Conrad Smith were sin-binned in the first half as the Pumas went to the break with a 13-12 lead.
However, the All Blacks played better in the second half, scoring two tries to kill off the game. Halfback Aaron Smith and Sam Cane were the scorers for the All Blacks. A Rugby World Cup record crowd of just over 89,000 fans attended the game at Wembley Stadium, breaking the previous record of just under 83,000 at the 2003 final.

My Masterpiece
For the past few weeks or so, I’ve been making a shed in woodtech at Tamaki College. To make our grades high, we had to have joints, nothing loose but tight and a useful tool. I thought it would take FOREVER for this to finish because I didn’t believe in myself but I took a step forward and finished my shed all by myself. I’m proud of myself for accomplishing my work. This is the going to be the best selling masterpiece ever.

Myron Simpson is a 25 year old man who was born on the 30th of July 1990. He started practicing cycling when he was 3 and competed in a race when he was 8 years old. He has completed one race in Mexico and has been rewarded with a silver medal. His fastest bike ride is 110 kph. But before he rides, he puts on his gear which is his skin suit, helmet and shoes. After talking about reading, some people from each class received a duffy book.

Jill McDonald
Jill McDonald
Jill McDonald was born in Wellington 1927. She drew a lot of illustrations for children’s books and school journal using crayons, stencils, inks, paints and dyes. Jill died in 1982, and some of her pictures weren't coloured in like the book ‘Number One’. All her pictures and illustrations were transferred to her mum in England. Let’s hope someone carries on drawing like her one day.
