Yesterday was the most painful day of my life! Yes, my ankle twisted real badly and started bruising the second I was hopping back up the hill. Luckily I held in my tears because I didn't want to look like a cry baby in front of the other representatives of Ruapotaka School. I wish I could go back in time and do what I was told instead of making my own choices. Mr Reid said, "Stay in the lane!" repeatedly, but I fell down and came to school with a moon boot the next day. I'm regretting it now.
(I don't know why I'm smiling when I broke my ankle)

Manaiakalani Film Festival
Thoughts were shared, decisions were made and finally the idea of our movie was out. Walking up and down hills, hearing some students moan because we had to repeat our scripts and scenes. One week ago on Wednesday, we screened our movie in the theatre.

Assessments Are Here!
We're finally back from our two week relaxation and we're studying as hard as we can for our upcoming assessments. I don't sound too excited about it, do I? Well, it's still far, far away from now and I'm not looking forward to tests. Never, ever! But hopefully I get a high score in my assessments. Well, that's me for today!

Auckland Botanic Garden
Today the whole of Ruapotaka School went to the Auckland Botanic Garden. I thought we were not going to do any work but walk around to see some of the beautiful flowers and trees... but no! We had to take a paper worksheet and do some research on the plants we had seen. Well, it was kind of fun seeing plants we haven't seen before. Finally we're back at school from this tiring day!

Poetry Recital
Hearing repeated paragraphs and pens tapping on paper was different for the past few days but it was for our Poetry Recital. The whole of Ruapotaka School had to find or make up their own poem to say in front of their parents and school. Sadly only 3 people were able to be chosen to do it. A few days past and Mrs Golder chose the three lucky people and I was one of them. I was so nervous to stand in front of heaps of people but finally it's over.

Skipping Display
A few weeks ago Room 12 started practicing their own skipping display. We were all split up in groups. Weeks passed and we were all ready with our display. Jumping and skipping was so tiring. It was so fun during our skipping display because we got to play some music while skipping. Luckily we got through it all.

Special Award
While all the Ruapotaka students were sitting in the Duffy assembly, Mrs Pederson requested all the teachers to choose a hard working student from their class to receive an award (a book and a certificate). As I was trying to get comfortable sitting on the ground, Mrs Golder chose me. I was so happy, I felt like I was a model walking up! Hopefully I get more awards throughout the year. (I was the only one looking at Mrs Golder's camera).
